Who can order it

Only a registered Maryland voter can apply. You must swear under penalty of perjury that no part of the list will be used for commercial solicitation or anything not related to the electoral process. Anyone who knowingly lets a list under their control be used that way commits a misdemeanor punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a $250 fine (Md. Code, Elec. Law § 3-506; COMAR 33.03.02).

Tips before you order

Apply early. Before an election, applications that arrive after the voter registration deadline are returned unfilled until the election is over.
Ask for voting history "Separate from Voter List." It covers up to 10 elections with voting method and date, and you match it to voters by Voter ID. History built into the voter list stops at 5 elections and shows no method or date.
Pick FTP delivery. It is free and skips the $3 setup fee.
Your county board of elections also sells lists. Montgomery County sells a countywide file on a USB drive for $75 that includes date of birth and school district.
