Ask the registrars of voters in each town in your district for the registry list, using the town's order form if it has one, and confirm the list is for election or political use. The statewide file is a written request to the Secretary of the State. Use the table below to pick the right list.

Tips before you order

• Connecticut has no county government, so every local list comes from a town. A State House district that crosses town lines means a request to each town, or buying the $300 statewide file.
• Ask for Excel rather than PDF. A PDF is hard to load into a canvassing app.
• Greenwich charges $35 for its list but waives it for candidates. Ask your town whether it does the same.
• Since 2026 the list shows only year of birth, not the full date.

Who can get a Connecticut voter list?

Since Public Act 26-1, the list may be used only for election-related, scholarly, journalistic, political or governmental purposes, not for any personal, private or commercial purpose, and violations carry a civil fine of up to $2,000 each (Conn. Gen. Stat. § 9-50d).

What is in a Connecticut voter list?

It includes voter name, residential address, party enrollment, year of birth, voting history for elections and primaries, including whether the voter voted in person or by absentee ballot. It does not include month and day of birth, driver's license, state id and social security numbers, voters who filed a sworn safety nondisclosure statement, voter registry privacy program participants.
